The Monkees vs. Del Tha Funkee Homosapien

Holy smokes…I was for some odd reason surfing the iTMS and came across this old (1967) song by the English band The Monkees…”Zilch”…and, to my great surprised heard something so very familiar…:

…sure thing…Mr. Dobalina…or as Del Tha Funkee Homosapien called him 24 years later (1991) Mistadobalina…the chorus from Zilch provided the back bone of his hit single “Mistadobalina”:

…well…I learned something new today…

The Monkees weren’t an English band. One member, Davy Jones, is originally from Manchester, but the band was formed in Los Angeles, USA, by TV producers. The other members were Micky Dolenz of Los Angeles, Mike Nesmith of San Antonio, Texas, and Peter Tork, of Washington D.C.
