Just heard all dog owners in the UK are to chip their dogs and buy additional insurance...a move by the government meant to reduce the number of aggressive dogs and dog fighting in general...hopefully it'll work as intended...we'll see. You completely echoed my thoughts. Why on earth did they put that poor child with down syndrome in the movie when she was going to be in a verbally abusive scene? How is she to understand that it is "make believe"? What were they thinking?! Poor judgement. Poor poor judgement on the part of the film makers and the parents of that little girl. I am so angry to know that Gabby Sidibe is nominated for a BEST ACTRESS Academy Award! I mean - what?! Why?! It's CRAZY! The only thing she did was "look the part". She is black, obese, and can pass for a teen. That's IT! She looked the part and can regurgitate lines and that is enough to be nominated in the same category as Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep? I think NOT! WHat a f-ing joke. As for Monique - I don't know her personally but from what I have seen in interviews - she is annoying as hell, I can not stand her - so ya, she did well in the part because she got to be pissed off a lot and that is her specialty.
