Documentary - “I love trash”

“I Love Trash” is a documentary about dumpster diving. Two friends decide to do an experiment in trash. They rent an unfurnished apartment and arrive with only the clothes they are wearing and a flashlight. They decide not to buy any things for 3 months and instead to find all their needs in the trash. They furnish their apartment lavishly. They eat decadently. They dress sharp, and create beautiful art, all from the trash.

Starts out a bit slow, but it’s actually a pretty interesting doc…Viewer discretion advised…Hippies galore!

…I’m coming for a short visit!” (For those of you unfamiliar with the Norway/Denmark relationship…Danes lovingly call Norwegians “mountain apes”, while Norwegians refer to Danes “lowland monkeys”)

Anyway…I’m going to Norway…actually…I’m going to visit a group of islands called Svalbard located in the Arctic Ocean midway between Norway and The North Pole.

Between the 22nd and 27th of August I’m going to attend a course in “Climate change in the Arctic region” sponsored by the Norwegian Space Agency (yeah…I laughed too…but they do have a space agency!) in the city of Longyearbyen,- one of the northern-most cities in the world…It’s located only 800 km (500 miles) from The North Pole.

It’s really going to be a fantastic experience I think…and maybe a bit dangerous one too. You’re not allowed to leave Longyearbyen without being armed with a shot gun and a bear maze. Svalbard lies right in the path of the polar bears migration route between the northern part of Greenland and Frans Josef Land, and the bears use Svalbard as a stop-over.

De (meningsløse) National Tests

Følgende spørgsmål er at finde i demoudgaven for “De nationale tests” for faget geografi:

“I 1990 var Afrikas befolkning ca. 648 millioner” Sæt kryds: Rigtigt____ Forkert____

Hvis det er standarden, så er det simpelthen så kummerligt det er til at græde over…Komplet (!) ubrugeligt! Hvordan H******* kan man finde på at stille så komplet ligegyldigt et spørgsmål?! Hvad testes? Om ungen har været heldig at få en geografibog, hvor der står noget om folketallet i Afrika i 1990? Om ungen er god til at gætte? Om ungen så Discovery Channel d. 22 juni 2008….hvilket tilfældigvis var samme dag opgavestilleren sad og så Discovery Channel?

Spild af alles tid, penge og kræfter!
